Fall is here!

Colorado is the first place I’ve lived that has all four seasons. I love admiring the beauty that each season brings, especially fall! The leaves are just starting to change around Southern Colorado, so we decided to take a trip west to Cripple Creek to see how the leaves are progressing.

Aspens are my absolute favorite; but so many trees and shrubs are changing colors, too!

Little Grouse Mountain

We originally headed to Florissant first, but there weren’t too many trees changing color yet. We detoured to Little Grouse Mountain, which is located right between Victor and Cripple Creek.

I was super happy we decided to come this way because we finally got to see Rita the Rock Planter! Rita is an absolute icon, and I’d be so sad if we left Colorado without going to see her.

CO State Highway 67

We were treated to a ton of fall foliage along the highway between Cripple Creek and Divide! There were lots of places to pull of along the way and simply bask in the fall ambiance.

We noticed a lot of cars parked at the Horsethief Falls Trailhead, which begins at an old mine, but I was sick so we decided not to do it that day. Hopefully we can go back before the end of the season!
